Winter has ended and the warm sunshine has returned. Sunshine and sunflowers are the inspiration for this round of Pot Stocks and Stocked Pots.Have fun with this edition’s combination of Sundial Growers and Spicy Cannabis Sunflower Soup.

Sundial Growers Inc. (NASDAQ:SNDL) 

Sundial Growers Inc. (NASDAQ:SNDL) is a Canada-based firm that markets cannabis products. The cannabis products are sold under brand names such as Top Leaf, Sundial Cannabis, Palmetto, and Grasslands. Some of the inhalable products it sells include flower, pre-rolls, and vapes. In October last year, Sundial Growers purchased the liquor retailer Alcanna in a deal worth over 300 million dollars. The latter operates in more than 170 locations and is the largest private liquor retailer in Canada. Alcanna also has a majority stake in Nova Cannabis, one of the largest cannabis retailers in Canada.. The company last reported its earnings on Nov. 11, 2021, when it posted an adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) profit totaling 10.5 million dollars, but investors taking a chance on Sundial should be aware that there’s still possible risk ahead for the business. 

However, there is no risk when it comes to making this delicious soup, as long as you follow the recipe. 

Spicy Cannabis Carrot Sunflower Soup

Ingredients:

2 Cups Carrots, peeled and diced 

1/3 Cup Celery, diced 

1/3 Cup Onion, diced 

1/4 Cup Sweet Pepper, diced 

1 Small Jalapeno, seeded and diced

2 Cloves Garlic, minced 

2 Cups Vegetable or Chicken Broth 

1/3 Cup Sunflower Seed Butter 

1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes 

Salt & Pepper to Taste

1/2 teaspoon of Cannabis Infused Olive or Avocado Oil

Directions:

To begin, combine the carrots, celery, onion, peppers, garlic, and broth in a soup pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cover. Continue to simmer until the vegetables are tender, usually about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and puree everything in a blender or food processor with the cannabis infused oil added. Pour the soup back into the pot and stir in the sunflower seed butter and red pepper flakes. Reheat gently, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve to family and friends in individual bowls, topped with chives, cilantro, and sunflower seed kernels for garnish. Use additional cannabis infused oil if desired and enjoy.
