Get Ready for Summer with Delicious Baked Goods By Mystery Baking Company

Issue69_TheSummerIssue_COVER

The Mystery Baking Company has a whole new line of baked goods that are absolutely perfect for medicating this Summer. Summertime in Oklahoma has no shortage of super-fun things to do, both indoors and outdoors and edibles are definitely the best way to dose at picnics and barbecues, movies and museums, and any music festivals or concerts you might be attending. The new line of edibles are a colorful new twist on some classic canna-favorites. There’s four flavors of cookies: Classic Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate- Chocolate Chip, and Birthday Cake with Sprinkles. Each cookie is 300mg of THC total. They also have four flavors of 300mg brownies: Original, Double Chocolate, Almond, and Cosmic, which has M&Ms on it. Finally the Marsh-Mello bars, which are very much like Rice Crispy Treats, are 100mg and come in three flavors: Original, Chocolate and Pebble Blast. You can read the full review of The Pebble Blast Bar in this issue.

These baked treats are very delicious and you’ll be tempted to eat the entire thing in one sitting, but beware. 300mg of THC is a lot for just about anyone so you’ll want to go one bite at a time and monitor your progress. The Marshmallow bars are 100mg so you don’t need to be quite as careful but that’s still a good strong dose of tetrahydrocannabinol so please pace yourself.

Baked goods and summer go great together because so much of the summer season involves eating outside. Whether you’re at a family picnic, holiday barbecue, having poolside snacks or taking your munchies with you to the newest summer blockbuster. You don’t risk offending anyone with smoke and you don’t need to sneak away so you can use your medicine in private. However, most of us want to limit the amount of time we spend actually using the oven on these hot days so making your own edibles can become a real chore once those temperatures are up. That’s what makes these MBC treats ideal for this time of year. We even added some special ideas in the recipes section of this issue to help you kick up your infused refreshments game a few notches, including a milkshake that contains a whole brownie. All of these delicious edibles can also be paired with ice cream, whipped cream, caramel or chocolate syrup if you really want to get decadent with your medicine. Try your favorite brownie or cookie as the centerpiece of an ice cream sundae when you escape the heat and humidity, if you really want to cool down, just remember to go slow and be careful with that dosing.

Chocolate is an excellent carrier for THC. Cocoa butter, the fat extracted from cocoa beans that gives chocolate its smooth texture also increases the availability and thereby the potency of the tetrahydrocannabinol in your edible because thc is fat soluble. These brownies and cookies contain enough chocolate that the 300mg packed into the baked goods will hit more like 350-400mg once fully ingested so you should even be a little more cautious with the brownies because you’ll be extra medicated. These edibles provided both a relaxed body high as well as a nice smooth and mellow head high with a good sized side of the giggles. If you’re prone to the munchies, you’re going to want to have some real food on hand to insure that you don’t just keep ingesting more edibles and maybe keep a little CBD at close range too. Cannabidiol can help counteract the effects of THC if you feel like you might have ever overdosed a little too much on your favorite medication.

The number of cool upcoming events is big too and includes Juneteenth, National Bikini Day, Summer Solstice, Hammock Day, National Hot Dog Day, The Fourth of July, the release of Thor 4: Love and Thunder, National Watermelon Day, the Perseid Meteor Shower, Labor Day, and so many others. Check out holidayinsights. com for details and a full list of reasons to celebrate. Safari Joe’s waterpark in Tulsa is an excellent place to take edibles and they host cannabis events there too. Even if you don’t make it to the Toke and Float, you can take some MBC baked goods with you on any visit to the park you might make. Another great Oklahoma spot to explore stoned is The Heavener Runestone Park. Take some Mystery Baking edibles along and learn about the mystery of the Swedish-inscribed runestone found there in the 1920s. According to local oral history, the runestone was actually discovered in the 1830s by a Choctaw hunting party and the runes document Viking exploration of southeastern Oklahoma in 1000 A.D. Pretty amazing stuff and you’ll want to be properly medicated when you’re there.

The Mystery Baking company will be hosting a cannabis infused picnic in August featuring lots of edibles, live Reggae music, food, fun, friends, some surprise musical guests and a whole lot of weed. Keep an eye out on the @EdiblesMagazine instagram for the exact details throughout the Summer. It’s most assuredly an event you won’t want to miss.
