Jardin: A Garden of Vegas Delights

In December of last year we attended The International Cannabis Business Conference on the Hawaiian island of Kauai and while we were there we met John Kent on the floor at the booth next to our’s. He shares a name with Superman’s adoptive father and works as the inventory curator at Jardin, Las Vegas’ Premium Cannabis Dispensary. We were in Vegas recently for The Nightclub and Bar Expo, as it was the first time they’ve ever included cannabis as part of the show and it gave us the perfect opportunity to catch up with Mister Kent and get an up close and personal first hand look at Jardin. “Jardin” is Spanish for Garden, which is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as an “enclosed piece of ground devoted to the cultivation of flowers, fruit or vegetables”. After the last day of the expo we dropped into Jardin for a visit and were delighted to discover what has come to be our favorite dispensary in Las Vegas and a Garden of Earthly Delights in it’s own right. Located at 2900 East Desert Inn Road, only two and a half miles from the convention center and with more parking available than any dispensary I can remember being to anywhere, Jardin truly looks like how you’ve always hoped a cannabis shop would. The shop was very clean without seeming clinical, and very professional.

While John was showing us the inner workings of the store we had the chance to meet Adam Denmark Cohen, the Founder & CEO as well as Chef “Z” Zairilla Bacon, who was featured in December on an episode of Vice where she cooked an infused gourmet meal consisting of medicated crab legs, lobster tails and chicken wings for 2 Chainz, Hannibal Buress and Tommy Chong. It was also enlightening to see the system Jardin uses for fielding calls and interacting with online users through the chat function on their website. E-Budtenders man the phones and answer any questions that may come in over the internet, allowing the budtenders on the floor to concentrate on the patients, that are actually now just referred to as customers. Nevada is quite interesting. They’ve only been adult-recreational for as long as California but they prepared for it a lot better than the Golden State. Some shops are 24 hours and prices aren’t bad at all. Jardin opens at 8AM and doesn’t close until Midnight. All night dispensaries are a cool idea, but I might feel sorry for the budtenders on the weeknight graveyard shift. Maybe it’s a fun time? The selection of vapes, flower, pre-rolls, edibles, topicals, and drinks was all top notch. They also have their own terpene and CBD infused water and it’s absolutely delicious. f you’re at least 21 years old and find yourself in the Las Vegas area you should be sure to make time for a visit to Jardin. There’s a restaurant at The Wynn with the same name so make sure you know where you’re going. For more details check out jardinlasvegas.com, and happy gardening.
