Letter From the Editor Issue 53

letter from the editor 53

Greetings my friends,

Springtime is right around the corner, a time of change and growth. We were in Honolulu for the Hawaii Cannabis Expo and it was a very fun and interesting trip. We drank more Kava, met Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Krazy Bone, hung out with our friend Tiger, went to more beaches, and smoked a lot of cannabis with Ed Rosenthal. We also went on a boat ride in the ocean and saw lots of whales. The boat captain played Lil Wayne to draw the whales out and then put on some Grateful Dead to keep them swimming alongside us. It was some pretty cannabis friendly music and I like whales even more than ever. We always leave those beautiful islands too soon. It was also quite an experience to attend the Los Angeles Wedding Expo in Hollywood with Jamie the Flower Daddy. Jamie provided our Top 7 List this issue with the Top 7 Cannabis Wedding ideas so be sure you read that.

The Super Bowl, Grammys and the Academy Awards have all happened and are over with for another year. Everyone in Los Angeles is still scrambling to get facilities in order and up to snuff for the health department and the city and state inspections. It’s been a lot to go through the ongoing changes in an industry that feels at least two decades old now, but that’s legalization for you. Spring is about growth and with growth comes growing pains. When the regulation smooths out, I’m sure it will be better than ever, but the road there feels like it’s paved with bumps and potholes.

This issue we have our good friends at the Mystery Baking Company back on the cover as they launch their new line of CBD infused edibles. We’re seeing CBD everywhere lately, even on the mainstream news. The healing benefits of cannabidiol are amazing indeed, but be careful about where you get your medicine and what’s in it; We also have great new and infused recipes, product reviews and a special crossword puzzle in the back. The world keeps getting crazier. Colonel Sanders is now Robocop. Empire’s Jussie Smollett allegedly paid $3500 to fake his own homophobic racist assault and R. Kelly was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims. They both turned themselves in to the same Chicago police station within a day of each other. That seems so weird to me. Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther are both on Netflix so I’m recommending eating some nice potent edibles and watching those movies back to back while you try to forget about this crazy world for a while.

As always, smile at your budtender, tip your delivery driver, and know your dose.
