Greetings my friends,
It’s Fall now and that means it’s officially Croptober time. For those that don’t know what “Croptober” is, it’s a nickname for the outdoor cannabis harvesting season. Technically there is no exact start or end date to Croptober, but for most growers, Croptober typically occurs throughout the month of October and it’s when you’ll traditionally see the highest volume of quality flower at the lowest prices you’re going to see all year long, so there’s that to look forward to as well as so much else, like: The Los Angeles Comic Con the Virginia Comic Con and Halloween. It’s best to start choosing or building your costumes now for those events if you haven’t already.
Cannabis legalization continues to evolve across the country. It’s actually pretty hard to keep up with. The differences, for instance, in the laws between California, Hawaii, Nevada and Oklahoma are confusing. Right now Oklahoma is a lot like Los Angeles was ten years ago. There’s 1800 dispensaries in the state of Oklahoma and only 200 in the city of LA, but we’re still hearing from everyone that there isn’t enough supply to meet the demand. Visiting feels like time travel and it’s pretty cool. There are cannabis shops everywhere and billboards for dispensaries and WeedMaps all over the place.
Vaping is suddenly the hottest button topic there is. It’s hotter than gun control and hotter than immigration. The fact that those statements are true makes me feel like it could all be an intentional distraction conspiracy but gosh are people upset. Massachusetts and India have banned vaping and Los Angeles wants to. Vapes being sold on the black market and cut with coconut oil, vitamin e oil, propylene glycol, vegetable glycol, and other dangerous fillers are ruining it for everyone. If you’re going to vape, do your research and know who’s producing the product you’re ingesting. Even pesticides deemed safe by the FDA for nutritional consumption aren’t supposed to be heated up and inhaled into the lungs. Try to find pure cannabis oil with a native or natural terpene reintroduction and don’t settle for less, it isn’t worth your health.
There’s some very fun stuff in this issue, including the same great news, recipes and product reviews we feature every month and a new canna crossword puzzle too. Enjoy the Nano Issue!
